Mental Health Support:
Teens and young adults often face a variety of challenges, including academic stress, social pressure, family issues, and identity formation. These factors can contribute to the development of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, and other emotional struggles.

At Misión Despegue, we provide quick access to bilingual professional counselors, mentors, and trusted adults at NO cost or donation based to help youth and families identify stressors, recognize triggers, develop coping strategies, and seek solutions after trauma.

Turning point program:
 We believe every young person deserves a second chance. Our initiative aims to cover court fees for first-time juvenile offenders, helping them move forward after making mistakes to create a platform for early intervention.
By easing the financial burden, we allow these youth to learn and grow, steering them away from potential legal troubles. We aim to support them in court and empower them with the resources and guidance they need to succeed, creating a brighter future for our youth, filled with hope and new beginnings.

Pathway to Progress:
Our ‘Pathway to Progress’ program supports adolescents and young adults sixteen and older pursuing a GED. We cover the costs associated with registration, test fees, cap and gown fees, and provide a brand-new laptop. This comprehensive support ensures that financial barriers do not hinder their educational progress. We collaborate closely with families to ensure ongoing support and follow-up even after graduation to connect them with other resources.
We understand that the costs can often be an excuse for not finishing their GED or high school equivalent. Our commitment is to empower families and facilitate a successful educational journey for all.

Drive Forward Initiative:
Our organization developed a comprehensive program to assist youth in Kansas with obtaining their driver’s permits and licenses. We provide support by helping students prepare for their written tests and covering the costs associated with testing and permit or license issuance.
Additionally, we facilitate appointment scheduling to streamline the process. Navigating the DMV can be challenging, particularly for parents with limited English proficiency. Therefore, our program also supports parents by assisting them in gathering all necessary paperwork to ensure a smooth and successful application process. Moreover, we guide young people in understanding traffic laws, ensuring they are well-prepared for responsible driving. Our commitment is to empower our youth and their families, making the journey to obtaining a driver’s permit or license as accessible and stress-free as possible. This program is currently in its early stages of implementation in Missouri.

Community Communication and Support Initiative (CCSI):
The CCSI is a transformative initiative to improve communication between victims of violent crimes and local police.
By creating a direct connection between victims’ families and detectives for updates and inquiries providing professional interpreters and company liaisons, our goal is to empower the Hispanic community who is dealing with the loss of a loved one, providing essential support and hope while understanding and respecting the complexity of our legal system such as police procedures and timelines.
The goal of the CCSI is to create a safer community by connecting crime victims with law enforcement, reducing violence, encouraging reporting, and promoting empathy, safety and justice.
